Union Jack

Union Jack Nail Art

This Union Jack design marks my first attempt at using striping tape. The technique proved successful so in the near future I would like to go one step further and achieve a reciprocal gradient effect. This is when you have a gradient going one way on the nail and then the reverse over the top. In this instance, I would just need to turn the blue strips into a gradient to achieve a reciprocal gradient.

Top tip for anyone trying to achieve a similar effect- look at the width of tape that you are buying. My tape is very narrow and so I had to double up strips in order to get a nice delineation with the gradient below.

Polishes used:

  • Rimmel Azure
  • Rimmel White Hot Love
  • Rimmel Red Carpet
